Snowmobile Trails & Winter Fishing

The area offers a wide range of activities so everyone can find something fun to do.

We are right on The Avenue of Pines Snowmobile Trails.

The Avenue of Pines trails are known for being some of the best trails in the Chippewa National Forest. This trail connects to The Bushwacker trail that travels south to Deer River and Cohasset, then continues east to several other trails. The Avenue of Pines trail also connects to The Winnie trail, The Bowstring trail then up to The Blue Ox trail. From this area you can go just about anywhere as we have an excellent trail system. The sky is the limit for snowmobiles here at The Hill.

Other Fun Winter Activities

Winter Angling
From the Hill you will have access to many great ice fishing lakes. Of course Squaw Lake, Round Lake and Sand Lake are great ice fishing lakes and very close by.
We are just minutes from Big Winnie (Winnibigoshish) which is revered for it's fantastic walleye fishing and known for it's state record Muskie. Winnie is a very popular lake for Crappies, Jumbo Perch, Bluegill and Pike.

Spear Fishing
A popular northern Minnesota winter activity. Dark house rentals are available all over up here. This is an activity you must try at least once, you'll get hooked on the adrenelin rush when the big northern comes in after your decoy.

Cross Country Ski & Snowshoeing.
Bring your ski's or snowshoes along and get out on the Cut Foot Souix trails. Just minutes from the Hill you will find a most scenic trail system for skiing or snowshoeing. Miles and miles of trails winding through the Chippewa National Forest. Take in the beauty and get some excercise.
